IP Justification

After researching into the past, present and future of my chosen topics, I have concluded a number of ideas that could potentially grow into successful IP's of which I will choose one to develop. My IP opportunity is "Physical creation of ideas through self Assembly".
Although researchers have been looking into self assembly for a brief period of time, the information gathered thanks to the observation of biological self assembly has lead to quick advances into how we can make this technology ourselves. One of the most relevant advances is Skylar Tibbit's self assembling chains (which are still being developed and improved every day) and how he wishes to develop this technology and implement it in our physical environment. Should this prove successful, and my research leads me to believe it will, we could be looking at a completely new era in architecture and design.

The image we see above is one of Skylar Tibbits self assembled structures. As we can see, this technology is already quite advanced and makes me believe that in the next few years, the possibilities of this will be endless.

This self assembling technology combined with design using Polymers as biomaterials that are biodegradable and, therefore, extremely sustainable, cheap and eco friendly, could potentially lead to a new world of design alltogether. It would mean that we can make organic machines that make themselves based on a little information through human input.

This leaves my IP oportunity covering a wide umbrella of possibilities in design, architecture, toys and even live entertainment. My research provided me with insight into the mass media exposure that these topics had, and seing as these technologies are still being developed and, they are in fact some of the newest technologies available, lead me to believe that jumping into this world and creating one of the first IP's solely based on these technologies would lead to marketable ideas that would have great media exposure. Not only because of the leading technology factor, but due the likelyness that these technologies will become standard in a not too distant future.
The world is full of companies that need constant idea generation, and utulising these theories to create physical forms of the ideas after the input of these into a self assembling machine, could become a good starting point for the idea development of a company. Providing these kinds of services could open a massive market for my chosen IP, and these could also be developed into new types of media.
